About Brett Alegre-Wood, author of The 3 + 1 Plan

Brett Alegre-Wood grew up in Australia, spending most of his early life in Melbourne and Brisbane. After school he joined the Australian Army and then went on to study business at university. He then entered the lucrative field of management consultancy. Working with many of Australia's largest companies in a consultants' capacity he very quickly learnt that a high profile job had very little to do with financial security.

Brett's interest in property first developed early in 1994 when he trained as an estate agent with a local entrepreneur. He soon got disenchanted with being an estate agent and moved back into the field of personal development and running training seminars.

In 1999 he become a mortgage broker and before long had a successful mortgage business and was training mortgage brokers across Australia. This eventually led to being accepted onto the state committee for the Mortgage Industry Association of Australia.

During this time Brett began running seminars on how to build wealth through property.

In 2002 he moved to the UK, initially to fulfil the typical 'Aussie' tradition of backpacking around Europe for 1 or 2 years whilst using London as a base but he soon realised that there was a huge opportunity in property, an opportunity that still exists today.

In 2003 he began publishing his 'Insiders Tips and Tricks' newsletter. YourPropertyClub was formed in 2004 which today works with thousands of clients and sells millions of pounds of property each month. Brett is a passionate and prolific writer and regularly updates his free educational blog.

He lives in London with his wife Arlene and has no kids.
